Amsterdam

Where I stayed: The Flying Pig Beach Hostel

-It's located about an hour outside of Amsterdam, but with their handy shuttle service which leaves from the heart of Amsterdam, you can view the pretty country side of Holland for only 4 euro a ride--- Well worth the ride.

-It's also located in an adorable little beach town, with a lighthouse, cute shops, and of course, a beach.

-Cool vibe & atmosphere, breakfast & linens are included.

-I suggest getting a private room, just so you have your own bathroom.

-Overall, great experience.

What I did:

-Walked around, seeing the cute spots and bridges that the mini-Venice like city has

-Went to the Anne Frank House & Museum: A very touching visit, but well worth it.  We waited on line for an hour or so, but I am very glad we did it.  It cost 9.00 euro each.

-Bull Dog Bar: An awesome sports bar, cool atmosphere with a smoke room in the back.  AMAZING food.

-Red Light District: Just taking a quick stroll through it was more than enough. It was interesting to see such a different environment than I am used to.

-"coffeeshop": a very interesting atmosphere indeed, since a coffee shop in Amsterdam actually means a smoke shop in which their customers could smoke cannabis right at the table.  Tobacco was at a different part of the shop.  I don't smoke, but it was deffinitely worth the experience to view such a different place.

If I had more time what I would have done:

-The Heinekin Beer Tour:  sounded pretty cool.  It's a self guided tour, we didn't have enough time to do it.

-Canal Boat Tour:  Seeing a different side of the city is always pretty cool, it only costs on 9 euro or so each, and the tour lasts about an hour.
